10 reasons not to
have a pug

Pugs require attention and
lots of it
Pugs shed, shed, shed and
did I mention shed?
Pugs are indoor dogs, they
cannot be left outside in the
heat and cold.
Pugs need daily care and
maintenance.
Pugs are prone to eye &
palate problems.
Pugs don't house train
easily-it takes time
and patience.
Pug puppies  are very active
and hyper.
Pugs snort, snore,
spit, & snot.
Pug are not easy to breed.
Pugs are a life commitment
because they can live up to
18 years
With each adoption comes the care of
placing the right pug with the right
family.  This is done to ensure that we
limit the amount of times one pug is
placed before finding their forever home.
When a  "lost" pug comes into rescue, we
do everything to find their proper owners.
If their owners cannot be found, they
will be considered abandoned and and put
up for adoptions.

We have our adoptive families foster the
pug that they are interested in for two to
three weeks to see if they are a good fit
their family.  If a pug doesn't work out,
they are then placed with another family.
This program has been a huge success.

All adoptions require a home visit unless
prior approval has been acquired. Adoption
fees go to the care and treatment of the
pugs in rescue and the daily obligations of
the rescue.

All pugs from Music City Pug Rescue are
examined by a vet, spayed or neutered,
micro-chipped and given any necessary
medical treatment.
